Brigid Gallagher is a Chicago-based Photographer and Writer. She holds a Master's Degree in English from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lake Forest College. Brigid is an Associate Member of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), a member of The Photo Ladies, and is currently a photographer for CS Magazine, as well as a contributing photographer to Aesthetic Magazine, Brooklyn Vegan, Do312, Paste Magazine and The Vinyl District. She does steady work with other organizations, music venues, and varying clients throughout the Midwest. In 2017, she was voted Chicago Photographer of the Year in the Chicago Reader.
Brigid is also a freelance writer, with ongoing projects that range from writing textbooks and supplemental texts for the classroom to articles for newspapers and magazines to marketing materials and website/social media content for various businesses.
While her clientele varies, Brigid’s commitment to each remains the same. Her approach is both artistic and photojournalistic, all while maintaining affordability for her clients. She believes that every moment has potential to tell a story, and she sets out to tell those unique stories through her images.
Many of Brigid’s images have been used by companies for marketing purposes, some of which have ended up in newspapers, magazines, websites, and brochures; others hang in local offices and art galleries; and a good amount of them find themselves framed in clients’ homes and tucked away in albums commemorating a particularly important event in their lives.
